Why this section is not live yet
We are not ready to publish numbers we cannot verify.
SEBI does not publish AIF performance in machine-readable form, and manager-supplied figures use inconsistent methodologies. We are building the editorial process to cover this honestly before we publish it.
What AIF actually is
- Minimum investment
- ₹1 crore, set by SEBI. ₹25 lakh for employees and directors of the manager.
- The three categories
- Category I (VC, infrastructure, social), Category II (private equity, debt), Category III (hedge-fund style, long-short).
- Lock-in
- Category I and II are close-ended with a minimum three-year tenure. Your money is committed.
- The catch
- SEBI publishes registrations but not performance. Numbers come from the manager, and there is no standard presentation format.
