What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
MF Times is a publication, not a broker. We do not collect KYC documents, PAN, Aadhaar, bank details, demat details or any financial holdings — because we never need them. You cannot buy anything here.
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | When you subscribe or sign in | To deliver the daily edition and to identify you at sign-in |
| One-time password | At sign-in | To verify you control that email address. Short-lived and then discarded |
| Session token | After sign-in | To keep you signed in. Stored in your browser and expires |
| Comment text and display name | When you comment | To publish the comment after moderation. Display name is derived from your email prefix |
| IP address | At sign-in and signup | Security audit log — detecting abuse of the sign-in flow |
| Reading preferences | As you browse | Stored only in your browser (e.g. whether you dismissed the newsletter prompt). Never sent to us |
| Page counts | On each page you open | We count how often each page is read, and which website sent the visit (the site's name only, never the full link). No cookie, no identifier, nothing that ties a count to you |
| Google Analytics | As you browse | Aggregate readership: pages read, rough location, device type, how visitors arrived. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. We run it with IP anonymisation on and Google's advertising features off, and we see only totals, never individual readers |
We share the minimum necessary with the services that run the site:
That is the full list. We do not share your data with fund houses, advertisers, distributors or data brokers, and no one pays us for access to it.
If you subscribe, you get the daily edition and occasional notes about the publication. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate. We do not send marketing on behalf of third parties.

We will act on these promptly. You do not need to give a reason.
Sign-in is passwordless — a one-time code to your email — so there is no password of yours for us to store or lose. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and held with the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold as little as possible precisely to limit what could ever be exposed.
MF Times is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us their email, write to us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes materially, we will say so on this page and update the date below. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
